TiE-AZ membership is open to professionals with an interest in entrepreneurship, either in a start-up context or within a larger company. A person can become a member by paying the dues, which are $100 for a year. The membership is for twelve months and starts the month you register (e.g. June 2000 - June 2001). Membership is by individual alone and not by company. Membership entitles the individual to register for TiE-AZ events at a discounted rate of $20. Spouses need a separate membership.

The primary benefit of membership is networking with other entrepreneurs and professionals. Members can establish relationships that can provide them mentorship, connections to mainstream professionals, advice, especially with respect to business planning and financing strategies, and, in some cases, access to capital. However, TiE, as a not-for-profit organization, does not engage in venture capital investments.
